ABOUT US
Main sanctuary at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Central, South Carolina
Our Mission Statement
Recognize the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Respond to God's love through sharing our gifts in joyful worship, and a commitment to a disciplined life of living and learning in God's word.
Represent Christ to one another and the world through service and fellowship which share His love.
Our Christian Beliefs
Though many of our Christian beliefs are shared by other denominations, there are three defining beliefs of United Methodists as set out by John Wesley:
- The understanding and emphasis of God's grace.
The use of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral as a compass for moral and ethical decision-making: Scripture, Tradition, Reason and Experience.
- The belief that vital and balanced faith becomes a reality when both personal holiness and social holiness are wed together.
Communion
The communion table of the United Methodist Church is an open table. You do not have to be a member of the church to partake. The invitation to the table is an invitation to a personal and lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Everyone is welcomed at the table. This includes persons of any age.
